:D Enough of the vintage basses?! Never!
They're going to have to get used to the "fresh meat" though. I'll use it locally for sure, and it'll be a regular addition to the session arsenal. Actually I'm using it on a little gig this weekend - in tandem with my '66 Jazz. We'll see if they can get along...

Btw, speaking of vintage - you should hear it through a '61 Showman... it doesn't suck :p

You know what is awesome? Is that they sound even better than what they look. My candy apple orange bass is the best sounding bass ever. No joke. I might even sell the candy apple red one since I am so happy with the orange one (the orange has single coils, the red has HC).

I will try to record some clips through my REDDI and post here. It is really something.

I don't think it actually gets close enough to have the label; however, the headstock shape is undeniable.

They obviously modeled a bunch of instruments for all the members. Joe Perry plays his clear Dan Armstrong, Billie Perry ES335, weird pointy guitar from the 80's.

He plays two Sads (called "The Blonde" and "Pinkie" in the game, he also plays two different Parker Fly basses, and also what looks like an Alembic. Since all the Gibsons are called by their model number and the basses are not, I would assume they are not licensed.

Ok,

here is a little sound clip of my candy apple orange sadowsky. I got lazy and didn't run it through the REDDI... Well, anyway, some details:

This bass has single coils. The recording was done with both pickups at max (this bass is vol/vol/tone/stack), tone at max and the bass and treble aligned with the other knobs (all knobs pointing in the same direction...). :)

I connected the bass directly to a MOTU828 and recorded into Logic. There is nothing in between the bass and the audio interface.

The only thing I did was to add a preset compressor ("bass mild compressor") to the bass channel inside logic. Nothing more than that. Drums are one of the apple loops that come with logic.

Since I was listening to "run for cover" today, I played something simple around that idea.
