Cool... everything shipped from the US over the 4th of July gets a red, white and blue stripe painted on it. It should look great

Sounds like we will have similar delivery dates. Cool! I'll look forward to reading your review. I really dig my RV5. While I'm in Alleva bliss at the moment, I feel this bass will sit right between the 70's vibe of the Alleva and the alder/RW Sadowsky I have currently. Plus, it's orange

so does that mean the update is for sale
You know, ever since I got the Alleva, the Update has not left the house (although I gig the RV5 a LOT). It's a great bass, but the combination of the 35" scale, the 10+ pound weight, and the uber 'on steriods' tone isn't quite where I'm at currently. I'm going to hold onto it for a while since it is the total bomb for what it is, but my guess is, if I don't start gigging it within 6 months, it will be on the block.

What the hell is a Sadowsky anyways? It is just a Fender knockoff. Tell them it is one step down from a Jay Turser or SX!
I woke up and figured I make some quick clips of my Sadowsky basses so people can get a rough idea of the general sound of the basses, pups and their placement. Granted the basses don't have the same woods or same strings. In order:
Bass stright into a Sadowsky SA200 :
all tone controls 12:00, fat off, gain 9:00 vol 2:00
DI straight to RME ADI PRO converters to disk: no eq, no compression
Strings are of various ages but none are new: Sadowsky Black and Blue label
Bass preamps turned up a bit, not more than 1/4 turn on bass and treble
