Club Sadowsky!!!

My potential new signature line:

That bassist couldnt be in the pocket if he was lint.

.
LOL...

One of my sayings when I've had a particularly good gig having locked in especially well with the drummer is "So deep in the pocket I was eatin' lint.". :D

Oh, and yeah, crazy cool pair of Sadowskys Mark!! :)

Oh dear.

I signed for the delivery of my M5-24 a little less than an hour ago. I have the bad feeling this is the beginning of a very expensive addiction/business relationship to/with Sadowsky guitars...
I hate to say it, but probably yep. :)

Jim, your sound clip just locked it in for me. I'm taking my Sadowsky to the R&B gig. These things are so punchy, even tho I'm going to be strictly fingerstyle today... I love it. :)

Thanks guys. I didn't really *need* another Sadowsky, but after I visited the shop in NYC and played a few basses with the Nordstrand Big Singles, I knew that my next bass would have them. I was also thinking that I needed an ash/maple to round out the collection and was umming and ahhing about whether to get vintage style or not, but I figured standard with the Big Singles has the best look about them. Then I saw the in stock update with that bass and it is exactly what I would have ordered - so I ordered it. Its like Roger was reading my mind as to what I would have ordered. Then again - maybe he hypnotized me with his hawaiian shirt that he had on when I visited the store! :D

Hey Fran,

I didn't have the time to record the fingerstyle clip, so I am posting a video of a live show where I used the candy apple orange bass. The sound is badly mixed, taken directly from the FOH. My bass went straight to the GK1001-II and from the GK direct out to the FOH. Not even a compressor in between. I don't know what the guy was running in the FOH. Ah, the bass preamp controls were zeroed (is that a word?)

Anyway, here it goes:

Wow! Your Sadowsky KILLS! Great tone man!

Ahhhh Coelho, that tone is killer. Just reaffirms my fear that an MS5 is in my future... gotta love that J vibe.

So question for you all. I'm going to go ahead and order the VTC for my bass. I'm also looking to get some strap locks for it. I normally don't like strap locks and I've never dropped a bass, but I just don't want to chance it. I hate those big saucer ones. Are there locks out there that look normal... or more importantly, what do you all use and trust to protect your basses?

Also, anyone know anything about the straps they sell on the Sadowsky website? I remember back from my bass clarinet days that the neoprene straps were pretty nice. Anyone have any direct experience and know the difference in the sizes (small, medium, and large is a little ambiguous when it comes to straps)?

Hi, thanks all for the kind words, the video is just to show exactly how nice does this bass sounds in a live situation. It is funny, last show I used a different bass and I could see less people dancing! I am almost sure it is directly related to the bass sound...

About the straps: I have 3 of them, best straps on the market, period. Very comfortable. I am not sure abut the measurements, sorry.

HI

Straps are killer. Im on my second one as I wore the first one out. Cool because they are nice and wide but dont grab your shirt

Id order Dunlop straploks. They are cool because if you lose or forget the strap with the locks on it, they are still traditionally shaped to accomodate any strap

Sounds great!

Hey guys!
A non-Sadowsky owner here (yet!). I just have a quick question though;
I am thinking of buying a Metro, it does not come with the VTC. Would I need to buy a new stock pre-amp with the VTC or can I just speak to Rodger or something?

Thanks guys!
I'm so jealous ;)
I think you can just get the VTC sent to you (if you can wire it yourself) or you can send it back to the shop to have the VTC installed. Its not a whole new preamp. I think authorised dealers can also install the VTC for you.

Thanks mate!
I think I would have it sent to me and have someone that can wire it to do it. It would cost me alot to ship it to the US and back again!
