My new to me 09 Sadowsky VP4 just arrived from Italy today from a fellow TBer Michele the sushi lover , nice guy and true to the description , super happy with the Bass , it is everything I thought it would be , just got done playing it for a couple hours in many different settings here at home , thru my amps , headphones , this nitro body and neck vintage looking beauty is sweet , did not know how I would like a P Bass with a Pre but with the vintage tone control and the Pre amp in , man some great tone combos , this is Sadowsky # 2 for me , im a lucky guy !

Hey guys, I want to order a new gig bag and have my sights set on the Portabag. Is it the same bag as seen in this video? YouTube - ‪Sadowsky NYC P/J 5‬‏
The PortaBag in the video is different than mine. I wonder if this is a newer model or an older one. Maybe someone can comment on this.
The one in the video is the current/new one. It's the same bag as the Access Stage 5, which makes sense if you know the history of the bag.
I actually have one of each... the older bag that was made by inCase, and the newer bag which is made by Access (as well as an Access branded model). Both are phenomenal bags.

I'm on the fence about the Portabag.
If protecting your bass is a priority, it rocks. Good padding and it holds the bass nice and tight. I'd say the only thing with more protection would be a hard case.
But for the way I travel, ultimate protection is not a priority. I always travel by car and the bass is nice and comfy in the back seat. And I'm the one that carries the bass in and out from the gig.
My priorities are either light weight or the ability to carry a lot of other stuff in the bag's pockets. Based on those priorities, I have lighter bags that carry as much as the Portabag and I have bags that carry a lot more that weigh the same as the Portabag.

I have single and double Mono bass gig bags. They are lightweight, tons of storage, and very well padded. They are all I use now for rehearsal and gigs.
Mono bags with "tons of storage"? Which models? I have the single M80 and I've always felt it was fairly short on storage, myself... even compared to a more basic ProTec Deluxe model.
For light weight, I have an MTD bag that I got from Mike Tobias. I believe it's the red one he sells it on his web site. I'm not sure who makes it (maybe Levy's?). It feels crazy light; no stiffeners in it. Very simple pockets but they're large and can hold a lot (I'd say a little bit more than the Portabag).
For when I want to take it all in one bag, my iGig wins out. Pretty close to the weight of the Portabag but holds a lot more. Problem with doing it this way is that it can get very heavy. But, I can move it all in one trip.
Yeah, ok, I think that is Levys, and if not, a new SKB model. I have a couple Roscoe branded models of those... a single and a double, and while they only have the one main pocket, it is pretty big, and yeah, light weight since they're a true bag instead of a soft case type thing like the Portabag.
This one is a little interesting. The older Portabag by inCase is actually much lighter than the newer Portabag/Access Stage5. Still, even though I do think the iGig is a little heavier than the new Portabag, it's not by much. I also have their single, the 515, but I rarely need THAT much storage, so it stays home most of the time. Even been thinking about selling it.
