Club Sadowsky!!!

Thanks for the reply--and to the others who did, as well. It's not a leather-y smell that bothers me; it's a chemical-y odor that is causing irritation in my upper chest/lungs when I wear it. Strange...

Thanks for the ideas about Mono straps, guys. I'll check around for them...

My Fender P bass came in a fabulous SKB flight case that stank to high heaven of some sort of chemical . Probably glue. Anyway, I slapped a dryer sheet in there and it mitigated things drastically. Maybe try something similar?

The Sadowsky TYO Custom shop has done a few figured veneer headstocks!
I agree I think they are very cool and would make a great upgrade on the NYC basses!

Yeah. See? I find those look weird (though the third works best to my eye). Personally, I find the headstock cap works better on an MTD-style headstock than anything Fender-esque. YMMV and all that.

Personally, I like the Sadowsky headstocks best un-tinted, painted or otherwise matched to the body.

Sadowsky bros:

Life has thrown me a curve ball. No sob stories, but after 14 days in the hospital, priorities change.

In the next week or so my NYC Modern 24-5 and my LPB RV-4 are going up on the block FSO. I'd love my club bros to get first dibs. It'll be a few before can ship. I am not able to yet drive.

Lots of pix of them in the club threads.

Thanks

All the best to you. Life tends to throw those curveballs when we least expect them. I've come to realize there are bigger things in love to focus on and spend energy on than collecting fancy basses!

We do what we have to do in life to make it work. Good luck!

Charles, this is very, very sad news. I hope that you are going to be alright. My thoughts for best wishes are with you.

I know how much the 5-24 meant to you buddy. I hope that it all works out well. I wish that I had the resources to hold that bass for you until you were ready to get back to business with it.

Hey man, all the best to you.

He is. He's still got the MV5-24 he got from me, and it's not currently up for sale. :)

Vic's right. I am keeping one for Sunday worship and special occasions. The MV5 seems the best choice.

I just am going to be away from most all other playing for a long time.

No sorrows, guys. This has been a life changing experience for me. There is NO DOUGHT I am walking out of it a lot stronger in a lot of ways!
