This weekend I played an out of town 2-nighter on a borrowed Stingray 5 string. Why?
So I could ride my motorcycle to the gig, of course!
It's a great bass and sounded good and phat, but boy did I miss the playability of my MV5. I was able to change strings and do a setup for the second night which was a huge improvement over the first, but it was still a bit of a fight. Not only are the necks of these two basses completely different widths, but getting all the notes to come out evenly just took so much effort. It's nice to make a comparison in a real world setting, though, and that makes me appreciate my Sadowsky that much more.
