Club Sadowsky!!!

Can those be a direct swap out phyically with moderns?

Yes. That was the main reason Roger wanted the Big Singles in 40 covers...so anybody can swap back and forth if they wanted to try our Soaps (or the Big Singles), in there 5-24's.

Rob

The Blue 5-24, are Big Singles in P2 shells, and the neck pickup is located at Standard J location, while the Bridge is in Normal 5-24 position, but measured out to the front of where the Soapbar route would start, not the pole pieces. (make sense??).

Rob

What does it sound like with the pickups located like this? Like a JJ, a PJ, a modern or something in between?

They tried to clone my bass!!!
You guys can't do this to me!!!

That baffles me a bit. To me it looked like this was a 60s bridge pickup and a custom placed neck pickup. The sunburst 24/5 has completely normal jazz placement right? Im pretty sure its not me, but the neck PU on the blue one looks way further back.

For those who haven't seen this interview with Roger. I know it was posted in part 2, but IMHO its worth again. All I can say is, wow.

Watching that video pushed me over the fence on the "Are they really worth the extra money?" question.

I'm having withdrawal. I took my sad to the shop before I left on my vacation to get the straplocks and VTC installed. I thought they'd have it done by now, but no. It's been over a week :hmm:. I called today and they said they were really busy and it'd be next week at the earliest.

And I just got a nice new head today and I can't try it out with my Sad :(.

This is exactly why I learned those skills, so I could do that stuff myself. It's not hard at all. :)

I ordered my Sad with a 9" radius because I am used to playing Fender 7.25" radius necks. My custom shop is a 9.50" radius.

What is it with a 12" radius - most Sad's have it. I am possibly thinking of changing to a 12. I am pretty sure I still have time - it has only been 2 months into my order.

So your thoughts/opinions on a 12" radius please?

I like mine a lot. The neck feels nice and thin.

flatter the better... makes going from string to string easier for my playing. and for some odd reason, i seem to be able to get lower action.
