Club Sadowsky!!!

I do love the Sadowsky flats for the music I play and nobody on my neck of the woods use them, which makes my tone different from what you hear when I share the stage with other bands.

Most bassists that have tried my bass or have heard me playing comment on the warm, solid (and cutting in the right frequencies!) tone. Of course the bass is the most important part of the equation, but the flats are also a must.

I happen to love the sound of round wound strings on a Sadowsky bass! How could you not. Roger just posted a link on Facebook of "Nickelback" bassist Mike Kroeger playing a PJ w/ rounds that make my ears glow.
Doen't mean I want to emulate his or everybody else's sound. You could put Mike's sound up against a handful of other Sadowsky PJ player's sound & I wouldn't be able to pick him out in a blind evaluation. But you stick my PJ in there, & guess what.(never mind-:))....anyway, I LIKE a personal sound signature. I even play a cover line that comes from inside me- not what the other guy felt. Flats have been a cultivation with me for a LONG time & at the risk of repeating myself - they're in my blood. OLD, mellowed blood :D

In addition, just as distinctive as the sound of a Sadowsky bass w/rounds is, the flat wound strung Sadowsky bass retains that distinction up against "other brands" with the same strings. The problem is that there isn't a reference out there that other players can wrap their head around. For instance, you can bet that if Mike Kroeger had strung that PJ w/ Sad' SBF45's, Roger would be running out of flats REAL quick. Lets face it, Sad'/rounds will always be the benchmark but a change from the norm is nice too.
