I've got one with an Ash body and a Brazilian Rosewood board. I can make a clip when I get over to my studio. Mine sounds pretty similar to that you tube posting though. Not much noticeable difference.

Also a question about black hardware: I usually use Schaller Strap Locks on most of my basses. Is [This invalid link has been removed] compatible (looking) with the black hardware on the Sadowsky's?
-- or -- Should I be looking at some other kind of locking hardware? This bass will probably have it's very own strap, so I don't necessarily have to be compatible with my other straps, although it would be good if I could.

As a matter of fact, my new build will have them installed instead of the Dunlops. You can request those as an option.

You know, it was a remarkable coincidence: I was starting to spec out an alder-body, ebony-board, soap-bar, 24-fret, 5 string with Kevin when this popped up on the in-stock page. I probably would have requested the Schallers too if I was spec-ing out a custom build, which was my original plan, but obviously I don't want to delay them from shipping, so I'll refit them once the bass gets here.

Looks like we'll be running similar gear for the most part. I am loving my Genz Benz (although I have slightly different cabs than yours). I love the B-String on these Sadowsky's - best I've heard/felt

The GB amps are a great match with the Sadowsky basses due to their transparent tone. They really let the Sadowsky sound shine .... at great volume too!

These have all been alder/rosewood. What do you think ash/rosewood would sound like? Kevin at Sadowsky said it sounded "clearer' and very good. I'm wondering if ash would tighten up the bottom a little while the rosewood would keep the finger noise and clackiness down, which is something I don't like about maple or ebony boards. (I'm always rolling my VTC back to try and take out those highs unless I'm slapping or playing hard rock, which is very little of what I do.)
Maybe I'm just curious about an unconventional combo to be different and should just stick with the classic alder/rosewood.
