Fingerboards seem to make a huge difference on Sadowskys

I know this guy in Brooklyn. He and a bunch of cool folks make wonderful guitars and basses. For the longest time he has opined that fingerboards have a large affect upon tone.

Hello all,
To make a long story short my Fender Marcus Miller bass' electronics have seen better days. After 3.5 months sitting on some jerks table, one wire soldered and a new pickup later it now officially sounds terrible (sounds like a run over duck). The best part is he hands it back to me with wires hanging out from under the pick guard along with it bulging out from his hack attempt to put everything back into the compartment.

At this point I'm taking the loss, sparing him his life and just walking away. Walk the middle path right?

So my question is, has anyone here ever owned one of these basses and added the Sadowsky preamp and Hum canceling pickups to it? With that said, is there any routing that might be required or any other mods needed to make it fit?

I love my MV4 and the sound and at this point a total overhaul to the "Marcus" couldn't be a bad thing considering it's current condition.

I owned a marcus miller a few years ago done that same mod with no problem . sounded great everything should slot in nicley hope u get it sorted best regards dave

I ordered a 10' Evidence Audio "Reveal" cable which is a relatively new product & I haven't found any review on it. I'll tell you about it after I get it & put some break-in on it..

indeed. Although actually most of the interview was pretty reasonable--the only bogus part was the stuff about "burn-in". You should see the garbage written on the actual Evidence website! But in that interview he mostly expressed wanting the cables to have as little impact as possible, which is a fine goal, achievable with low capacitance and good rejection of noise, along with reliability. I'll hand him that.

I just got my NYC RV4 back from being set up and serviced by a UK guitar tech. I also had the back of the neck 'gloss-busted' to take it back to a satin finish and it feels sooo good

I took some 0000 steel wool to the back of my Metro RVPJ5 last night. I was very careful and wasn't sure if I did it long enough, but it feels much better now

Anyone here have an audio sample of Sadowsky NYC with a Brazilian Rosewood board with either alder or ash body? I haven't been able to play one in person and wonder what the sound is like, and would be curious how much different the body wood effects the sound. P or J or both would be great.

So we just took some family pictures with a good friend who is a photographer. Not to let my crazy love of my new Sadowsky get in the way, I brought it along. We took a few shots with it including my son holding it. I'm really glad we did these when we did as he broke his leg at a skating party Tuesday and now is in a leg/body cast for 6 weeks.

I found this on You tube. It’s an alder Brazilian rosewood Sadowsky. I have one my self and I think this clip nails the tone pretty well.
