So, yesterday I happened across my set of Thomastik-Infeld Jazz flats. I'd had them on a Fender RB5 at least six years ago. They sounded great, but I changed 'em out for variety's sake -- typical for me. Just for grins, I put them on one of my P5's (Red, for those keeping score). The strings fit nicely because the Fender RB5 has a 4+1 tuning peg layout, just like Sadowsky.

In short, they sound fantastic! I think I like them better than the d'Addario Chromes I had on before switching back to rounds. I had to adjust action a bit because the TI flats are light gauge and low tension. I also have to use a gentler playing touch. But wow, they sound nice, and the B string sounds great pretty much all the way up the neck.

A five string set of TI flats is now $90 at Juststrings.com (quite a jump from 6+ years ago) so I'm not gonna say "go git 'em!", but I thought I'd share in case you flatwound players were curious.

I wish a happy holiday to everyone, but especially the Sadowsky crew for making me such a happy bass player. :):bassist::)
