I'm getting a 24F 4 string. Buckeye burl top, master grade Birdseye maple fretboard. Hopefully I'll get some pics of tops to pick out soon....I hate the SRDF but the results will be spectacular.

HAH! I've beaten this phenomenon. I have the Freakishly Good Luck Disruptor.
Between buying my NYCs used/off-the-shelf, and others being Metros that happened to both be exactly what I wanted and also already on the way in short term, I haven't suffered the SRDF at all.

I use plain ol' D'Addario XL Nickels on both 4 and 5 string Metro Js, .045-.100 (.130) Cheap and good.![]()
