Are you referring to an NYC Sadowsky? The best resonance I have ever had in a bass, have been my chambered Sadowskys.
Either one really. The Metro UV5 that I'm rocking now is louder acoustically than the NYC PJ5 I just let go to Bluesy. Different bass of course in design, but still noticeable. For me, NYC or Metro get's you the same (again IMO) legendary presence in the mix, the same comfortable feel, and the killer design of wood mixed with preamp. The NYC just get's you all the sweet extra goodness that can ONLY be had that way: the luscious green tops, anodized gold guards, and all the rest that makes keeps me on the in stock page a LOT.
My 0.02's on the mid boost on the WL model... My WL is super sweet and IMHO has a tone that I believe is near perfect but with the mid boost on its like it goes to super rude take no prisoners mode and I love it!

I finally received my Metro last night and had a few minutes to play it. Its certainly the easiest playing bass I've ever touched, much less owned. Its easy to tell that the individual that shaped the neck and that did the nut and fretwork were skilled and detail oriented.
The tone and preamp is something that's going to take getting used to. I mostly play passive 70s style jazz basses (alternating between a Ben Lindsey and a Fender Geddy Lee) and this PJ is very different. Its a great sound, make no mistake, its just not what I'm used to. It's very articulate, almost too articulate. I can be a pretty sloppy player at times and it can be painfully obvious when playing this bass. I guess I'm going to have to work on my left hand technique more, lol... (unless Roger has a switch to add to the preamp to fix that
). I find the slap tone on this bass phenomenal, I'm not much of a slap player or particularly enjoy "slap bass songs" but its hard not to play it. It just sounds so great and is SO EASY to play slap stuff on it (and I'm terrible at it).
This bass is by far and away the nicest instrument I've ever owned.
So if you'd be so kind I'd like a number please.

Firesalt, that is a really nice instrument. The blue/sparkle PG/maple is pretty. AND finally a P/J after the huge wave of incredible JJs that Vic and company posted.
I'm a few months out from my Metro 5 P/J (3tb/rosewood) getting done. It will be a different animal from the members of my current family, that's for sure.

The last week when you're waiting for it to ship is the worst part... you can almost taste it... taaaaaste the P magic...
I really dig the clear plastic protection stuff they left (or placed) on the bass and will probably leave it on for a while... until I beat the headstock repeatedly against a cymbal stand next month playing out (as suggested by other knowledgeable members). Is the plastic normal?
After a year and a half I fall in love with this Bass everytime I pick it up. Cant get enough of it.
