Nonsense! I've heard your recordings Lee, your playing is fine, as well as your tone. The comfort level comes from only one place, playing live. The more you do it, the more comfortable it feels. Start by jamming with people. You might not think you're fitting in, give it time, you will. As far as it being weird playing while standing, make sure your bass sits at the exact height standing as it does sitting. It isn't exactly the same, but it will get you close. Hopefully, a year from now, you'll be telling everyone how much you enjoy playing live for people! ;)

So I got my Sadowsky outboard Pre/DI in last night.
I connected it up and played thru it using one of the basses I have a current deal pending to sell... big mistake, it makes me wish I wasn't selling the bass, lol. I even tried my Metro PJ thru it set to passive. I think I like it better than the onboard Sadowsky preamp, it had a slightly richer tone, I liked it a lot. I compared a couple of basses thru the Sadowsky outboard and my Eden WTDI and the Sadowsky had a much better tone, hands down... it left the WTDI sounding sterile, harsh, and mechanical.
I wish I had bought one of these years ago. It would have saved me money.

I love those little boxes. The tuner out and mute switch are a godsend on the gig for those of us that don't like putting a tuner in line between the bass and amp. The DI and preamp sound wonderful -- they are a really good value. Everyone should have one in their gig bag!

Dear Anonymous Bass Player:
I am so excited to not finally see the bass that I have at no point heard you mention. Were I able to see it, I would likely comment on the figured top. If I were able to hazard a guess at the luthier of the bass-that-shall-not-be-mentioned, I would likely say: They are REDICULOUSLY GOOD!

Congrats. Metro 5'er in July for me...

I'm pretty pleased by it [he said in his best understated voice].

I wasn't actually sure if I was making the right decision when I told Roger that I still wanted the neck and headstock to be straight-up natural, even though he'd convinced me about the vintage tint for the body. But I think it turned out just fine. As I've said around here before, I just see a blond headstock with a black logo and tuners when I think 'Sadowsky.'

She's not too heavy, either. I'm definitely looking forward to welcoming her home.

I may have to get the Focusrite in gear and stretch her legs on a recording once she gets here.

Find a drummer and start jamming! Don't worry about playing live until it feels right!

Not anymore. I have restored the public access to the cover songs. Note: some of them are with my Don Grosh PJ4. The tracks list what was used to record the song in the description.

Not all the songs are uploaded. There are quite a few that we're going to re-record because those older songs were with older gear/recording equipment.
