With how big that guitar looks on you back then, that might as well have been an acoustic six-string bass. Extra long scale.

My parents stil live there and still have a second ( that one died ) stove identical to it.(and they use it everyday)

I was still nine years from entering the world. My dad was drumming for some local R&R band, which later played as part of the Expo 67 festivities. I like to think I came into music by osmosis...

Notice the great amp/cab combo of Hartke & GK. I loved that rig.

Looking at this photo for me is quite the road trip back in time. That was an amazing time in music (as well as history). The Beatles were about to come into our lives with a loud smack upside the head & contemporary music would never be the same. There was the Cuban missile deal, President Kennedy was about to be taken in the fall of that year, the conflict in Vietnam was on the horizon & the Ford Mustang was about to be born a year later. The stuff in this pic is top o' the line for that period. I paid $420 for a brand new Strat, which was a pocketful back then. A P-Bass went for about $360 as I recall.
I visited my buddy a number of years ago here in Toronto, & looked through his scrapbook. He has a pic of our very 1st gig. I was playing my '61 Kent guitar though my tiny '62 Fender Princeton amp (1x10"), in a highschool gym!!!
