Club Sadowsky!!!

Seing as this brill new axe is
a) my first active Jazz, and
b) my first Jazz, period,

I've been working more to dial in the wicked noises than probably most of you guys have to. I've come across some sounds that I really like via the Sadowsky YouTube channel and so on, and I figured I'd just ask about some of what I'm hearing. Or rather, one for now, to keep things from getting irritating.

I quite like this guy's slap sound. I get a 'direct-to-board' feel from the bass's voice, but anyone care to enlighten me on what his pre settings might be?

That sounds and looks like 70's bass with 70s pickup spacing.

Just put Sadowsky blue lable nickel 45-105 strings on my old 73 Ric , the old strings had been on forever , man she is singing again .

Hey Chef, I was wondering if it is the "norm" to leave the bass at flat/nominal settings and then control everything from whatever else you have plugged into?

I do just the opposite. I set the amp in the middle of where I want to be tone-wise, then change it up at the bass. I don't have time to keep walking over to the amp to get a new tone. Usually, I use the pickup blend to make the biggest adjustments, maybe with a little bass boost and/or mid cut/boost.

It feels great.

I played a 500 seat theater last week: Due to the (IMO excesive) lights it was very hot on stage and I sweated a lot, but the neck felt great, nor sticky neither slippery.

On a side note, I know that you love that white maple, but I really prefer the other side of the spectrum and although the back of my neck is getting a little darker I can't wait till it gets like this (maybe Roger can chime in and tell me how do they treat the maple so it looks so dark/worn):

Sadowsky owners, help! Do all of the Ultra Vintage models have a 9" radius? How does that compare to the standard 12"? Doesanyone have a Sadowsky with a 9" radius and a 12"? What are the differences feelwise?
