I think those folks are missing out; the spokewheel is a godsend.

Is the spokewheel truss rod adjustment a MusicMan licensed design? That is the first and biggest manufacturer I have seen to use it.

I hacked a hole into my Geddy Lee Jazz to more easily access the truss rod. Looks terrible but of course the pickguard covers it. While it's cool that they accurately recreated a 70's Jazz, was it really necessary to go THAT far with it? Ugh, what a pain. I love the spoke wheel on my Sadowskys.

I've been reading with interest all the P vs. JJ vs. PJ discussion. Never was a big P Bass fan, but last year got a cheapo Squier P to knock around on, this morning I took it to my church gig, and darned if it didn't sound great when you play it the right way! It really is a different beast.

I actually put a spoke wheel on my Geddy. :)

I had Fender Custom Shop 64 J. Beauty of a bass, but the neck always needed adjustment. Living in the humidity of New Orleans, things like a spoke wheel, graphite reinforcements, etc matter more to me than a true vintage recreation!!!

Actually, pretty simple.

The threads are the same, tho I think I added a thin washer under it so it didn't have to spin directly against the finish on the neck. The only thing left was to "adjust" the size of the route and pickguard cutout, which I was able to do carefully with a dremel and router bit. It didn't take a lot. Pretty obviously hand done, but at the same time, not ugly at all, and it works great.

FWIW I decided to pull the trigger on this :) Should be getting it within a few days...
