Yes, at the Bull Run. I saw the new marque! I backed up Johnny Winter back in '82 at the Paradise in Boston, MA.

I'll let you know when the moose make the headlines again!

Guilty. Lemme try to tie it all in...if bass tone were equated with North American land mammals, than wouldn't the Sadowsky tone be best represented by the majestic moose?

Is not a better description of the Sadowsky tone "as big as a moose"...rather than "a F**der on steroids"?

Well, I received my P/J 5 over the weekend. So, I figured I would post a picture of the Sadowsky wall. :)

I also added a second of the new (to me) P/J 5. First impressions are quite nice. I really like it. A nice change from the other two. It is Alder with a Morado board. It looks like Rosewood to me but the guy I bought it from is the original owner and he say Morado...So, Morado it is! The others all have ash bodies.

So, breakdown is as follows:

2001 NYC P/J 5 Alder body w/Morado board
2005 NYC JJ 5 '59 Burst spalted maple top, ash body, ebony board
Metro 5-24 ash body, maple board

On order...NYC 5-24 natural 5A spalted maple top, ash body, ebony board (no dots)

Yes, I said my goodbyes to this beautiful instrument and sent her on her way to Peter.

If it pleases the Court, I would still like to retain my membership (and number) in the Club here.

I remain a huge fan of Sadowsky basses and products and as soon as our children get a little older, and I can start to gig again, I am certain that I will be looking to own another one at that time.

my Sadowsky journey ends today!

i was happy with my pruchase of my MS5. but somehow i'm still looking and asking for more. so i decided to make some mods. first was the BADASS Bridge, it made my tone and sustain better. then the Single Coils, this has been discussed a lot in the TB so i guess you guys know how does a SC sounds compared to HC. then finally i ordered a special wired Marcus Retro from John. my MS5 has a different knob spacing so a normal Marcus Retro even without a plate won't fit. so he made me a wired version, such a great guy by the way! well, Marcus Retro sounds AWESOME! i'm not saying its better than the stock Sad with VTC, i just find it more on my liking and more flexible i guess because of the mid knobs. well, don't ask for a review or clips. first, i suck at reviewing things, i just know if i like what i hear or i will sell it! for this one, its a keeper for sure! clips, i'm quite busy at the moment and it won't be fair because i didn't make any clips of the old Sadowsky pre so i can't compare it to the Retro. i will test drive this baby tonight and see how it goes on a live situation.

The next time Roger dips into look at this thread, he's going to wonder what the heck happened:D

Back to reality, I've had my new NYC MV5 (the orange bomber!) on a bunch of gigs now, and it's just great (the single coils just grind and growl). I've had BIG success with the Markbass F1/Bergantino AE410 rig with this bass... aggressive, punchy, growly and full! Wonderful:hyper::bassist:

This weekend I should hopefully be able to come close to at least this rig's sound (but of course not Ken's fingers). I'll be using the J5 I just got, which is spec'd the same as Ken's, with a pair of AE210's and my F1. I wonder how close they'd sound if A/B'd, noting the age difference... if that could even mean any difference. Of course there's always the specific cuts of wood. :)

I can only imagine that it would sound great, Vic! The F1 is just a wonderful head. Along with the Sadowsky Ash/Maple and 500 watts @ 4ohms you are where you want to be tone wise! Can't wait to hear your review!
