It ain't over yet... I just haven't had a chance to hit them up again yet to follow up... just a prelim. Relax.
You can still check out a 18 volt bass by removing and checking each 9 volt battery, but you cannot use it thru the jack. I use the BOM this way for by MTD.
Ok, more data on the Batt-O-Meter and 18v systems...
Turns out it was a phone call, which is why I don't have a record in my inbox.
Anyway, what they told me on the phone back in Feb 2011 is that the readout does of course cap at 10.23V, BUT, the "hours remaining" is still accurate even on 18V systems.
I just emailed their support folks today to see if I can get any updated info on that, but there you go.

I've been dealing with some back issues for the past several months, pinched nerves and all that crap. I need to transition to a light weight bass to keep from making the problem worse, while keeping up with a pretty busy gigging schedule. So, while my Metros are pretty light by 5-string standards, I'm looking to transition to a chambered NYC to get under 9 lbs. If anyone is interested in a 2-1 trade deal for a NYC 5-string, these are the basses I'm looking to trade. I'll be putting up a proper trade ad in a bit, but wanted to offer these to the group first.

What are the weights on each of those? Since that's the topic at hand, I think folks will need to ask anyway. But like Rob says, great pair of Metros. They should move pretty easily.
Is "great pair of Metros" a euphemism for anything else?
I've always thought my wife had a nice pair of metros.........
