Based on the serial number, I think it's safe to say that it has graphite reinforcement. For an exact build date, just contact Sadowsky.

I had a standard 5 that I bought in late '03. It was one of the first few with the thicker headstock and graphite bars. Funny thing was it didnt have a VTC standard at that point. Serial # on that one was 3980ish. Yours is def the new setup

True. Mine is 4098 and it was made in May of '04 and it has the newer neck design. I think the last of the older style necks were gone late '03 or maybe very very early '04 at the absolute latest.

Not necessary. Just take the elex cover off and look. The builder and finish date are right there.
