Club Sadowsky!!!

I love you Jonathan. You are my favorite Sadowsky bottom feeder on the planet! ;)

Glad this bass found a good home with you.

Thanks Roger. I truly cherish your superb instruments, and this one will have a great home and get played on lotsa weird music.

Good things come to those who wait. I've been wanting a Sadowsky P for a while. I have several Precisions, but they are crude bludgeons compared to the Sadowskys.

Give my regards to Broadway.

Best Aloha,

Jonathan

I have been looking for a replacement for my '73 P (lost in a fire a few years ago) since I lost it. I have tried a lot of different things including a couple of Ultra Vintage Sadowsky Ps. None of them really did it for me like the 73'. I got this one a few weeks ago:

That's right it is a Metro P Hybrid! I LOVE this bass! Used it tonight in a rehearsal on a handful of ZZ Top covers we are doing for a ZZ Top tribute coming up and it killed! Lets be realistic, the material is not that challenging at all. But about halfway through my singer turns around and leans over to me and says "man, you are a bass playing mother...er!" I think we were playing "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide" at the time. Really basic stuff. My point is it sounded fabulous and that sound is what inspired him to tell me I was a "bass playing mother....er". I am amazed at how P sounding the Sadowsky is! It has an amazing mid punch to it that just sits so nicely, and I can turn up the pre and add a HUGE bottom to it that gives it a big thud through a nice PA. Totally different from what I was expecting based on my previous experience with the Ultra Vintage P's. Roger makes a great product and his Customer service is second to none, not to mention the fact that he is a REALLY nice guy to boot! Thanks Roger! Aloha Mr. Starr and play her in good health!

Peace,

T

Great review, Tom. Glad you are getting that mid thump out of that classic looking beauty.

I've always loved that Pbass thump, but I've never had one of the really great vintage ones that didn't have any issues. Always something up with neck/truss rod or grounding hum.

I've got a beautiful Sadowsky Vintage PJ5 and a cool passive 5string passive P that Mike Tobias made, that I've used to some success, but neither has that relentless thump.

Lookin forward to the Earl Scheib Tribute Bass.

Aloha,

Jonathan

OK... I have basically solved world peace, global warming, etc....

Active Sadowsky... D'Addario Chromes... Ampeg SVT..... Wow!

Tonight I gigged my 1992 Sadowsky NYC with brand new D'Addario Chromes....... through a SVT-CL and Sadowsky 410.

Results are in....

Best tone I have ever heard. Period.

I have played bass for 20+ years...... (Gibsons, Fenders, EBMM, USA Charvel)
I slapped and played a ton of classic rock.... all was amazing.....

Sounds great!

Where are all the Sadowsky lovers gone?

I've been missing my single coil equiped Sadowsky since I sold it. I asked the buyer if he would be interested in selling it back to me and his answer was "no" LOL, so I ordered another one and I just got this:

Specs: Full size, solid ash, dark vintage tint finish, single coils.

:hyper::bassist:

did I say?...I'm :hyper:
