Nope, Norm. I love that 24/4 also. Being we both one own, I cant imagine whey we'd like that LPB example. LOL

BTW, I was at the shop when the 24/4 and the bora blue burst were being assembled. Awesome pair. The bora blue bass looks even better in person. I believe that top is a non option top. Crazy quilt for no extra cash. One of you need to grab it

You should play the one I just got. It doesn't have any eye candy, but it sure has ear candy. :)

I'm starting to get acclimated to it now. It's really a different thing than I expected. It's a much more classic tone, but of course with the Sadowsky flavor they all have. It doesn't sound AT ALL like the Celinder, but you talk about a big huge meaty tone. It's big without being muddy or boomy. It's got definition without being nasal or honky. I'm really diggin' it. I just had a busy weekend with it... cover band gigs Friday and last night, worship this morning and tonight. It killed. Here's the part I didn't really expect... I'm really mostly about a more modern tone these days, but this bass has broadened my spectrum.

+1. Hearing this at church this morning really showed me how versed Sadowsky's can be. I loved its sound. Very full, yet had no trouble cutting through the very dense mix. Awesome, awesome bass.

I have been finishing my necks this way for over 30 years. When it breaks in and turns glossy, it feels like a nice, broken in, vintage finish. It does not have that new sticky gloss finish feel.

Satin poly finishes will stay flat, but I do not like the way they feel compared to the nitro.

Interesting. Thanks. My MV sure does feel and look different than the newer Metro's I've played, which were much shinier and smoother 'right out of the box' to me. Most of the NYC's I play have been played a lot already, so that probably explains that. However, it is strange that, for example, my RV5's neck is uniformly smooth and shiny, even though I virtually never play above the 12th fret.

The amount of flattening compound in the finish can vary from batch to batch. Some batches come out flatter and others with a bit more sheen.

I think it might depend on the finish if it doesn't have a figured top, but yeah, it's at least true that not all the NYC's are chambered. Ken just got his recently and it's definitely not chambered.
