What were the settings on the bass and what was the recording chain?

Thanx. We recorded it through my Aguilar direct box straight to the board. Some songs were re-amped either through my orange terror bass or a mesa boogie guitar amp. I used my Sadowsky metro pj, favoring a bit the bridge pickup in active mode with the vintage tone all the way up and just a little boost on the low and highs.

I've been a huge fan of Roger's work for 20+ years and even visited his shop on 48th St. MANY moons ago...

And while I have long lusted for one of his jazz basses, I've NEVER owned a bass with jazz style pickups...

I'm not sure that I could learn to love them...

I did see a caramel burst P/J Jazz body on his site awhile back...

Any cons regarding the P/J configuration over the J/J?

I own both. A jj and a pj on a p body with jazz taper neck. Both kill! The p has that ability to get real round and hollow w the p pickup. Can't go wrong either way. The key is the Sadowsky preamp

Just my opinion, but I look at a PJ as a P-Bass. And for a little more clarity and less boom, dial in just a touch of the J pickup.

For a JJ, I leave both pickups full on. Without the series wired P pickup, and parallel JJ's, you have more clarity.
