Big singles, and on the first gig, dead quiet. Can't say the same for my MV5 with SC's. Quiet, but not silent. Maybe another venue will have different results.

Word. If I had to pick one bass, It would be an Ash/Maple Sadowsky JJ. Others are fun, but sometimes a distraction.

Of course, I personally wouldn't go that far, BUT, I do love my Sadowsky MV5, and it'll be with me for a LONG LONG time. :)

Yeah.
Another great gig with the MV5JJ last night.
I really can't see life without one.

I know I'm gonna keep about 5 other basses around, and I know that I'll have "other dalliances," but the MV5 is my thing.

My band played in Springfield, IL last night and had an awesome show but the highlight of the night was Vic showing up and letting me play #4098 for a whole set. My Bass is pretty awesome in every way but let me tell you that Bass just has a little something special in the high mids. I know exactly why Vic will never sell that Bass. The second best time of the night was watching Vic play a song with my band. Vic always acts very modest about his playing. I want to let you guys in on a secret. Vic can play the *&*^*&%^$ out of a Bass. Thanks Vic for making it a great night.

Chef, It sure does. You and Vic are both just top notch in my book.

Back to #4098 that bass is just a pure pleasuse to play and to listen to while you are playing it. I have mine set up with the pan reversed and it took me a few songs and a bunch of puzzled looks on my face to realize that Bass is not reverse pan.

I'm back on the Sadowsky saddle with a Modern M5-24 and I'm having a blast.
I only wish Roger would offer a 35" scale on the Modern (as an option). It is not because the "B" doesn't sound good on the regular 34", actually it is a fantastic sounding "B", but a longer scale has a different, lower, deeper growl to it (that's why I'm proposing the longer scale on the Modern, I would not touch the 'standard' J and P recipe), but I'm being nitpicking :rollno:

Yeah, at this point, I've played a bunch of Sadowsky basses, and I honestly feel there's a little extra mojo in that one. That's why I was totally comfy having the shop strip the neck and Tru-oil it. I knew I'd never have to worry about impacting resale value. :)

Speaking of nice basses, it was great to see your insanely beautiful MV5 in person finally. Wow, what an amazing instrument. As usual, the pics do not do it justice at all. :)

Thanks for the amazingly kind words. I'm just glad we finally got to hang out for a while and I finally got to hear your band. Man you guys thump hard, and great selection of popular tunes. You owned the crowd. You can't do any better than that, and you kick some ass on the bass too dude. You were killin' it on "You Oughta' Know".

LOL! I remember that. Too funny. :)

You know, the weird part is, I haven't rewired any of the Sadowsky basses I've owned... somehow I've never had an issue remember they're different when I grab'em.
