Ahhh, ok, so we're doing this again? Sure, I'll play along, why not...

Those NYC 24-5s with the fancy tops are so nice... are the bodies chambered on those?
Hey, how could I possibly be mad at someone living where I spent the first few years of my life? That thing is so gorgeous... every time I see it I want to kill you...
I mean that in the best way possible

They are. That one that Vic has with the ash body is under 8 pounds... really lightweight. While I don't usually dig super light basses like that, those big pickups packed close to the bridge have plenty of 'balls' to them. It sounds GREAT!
Oh LAWDY, there's that incredible P/J again... Tom... oh my...Okay, fine.

Depends on the exact cut of wood, moisture content, and grain structure. You can have heavier wood that sounds bad just cause it's heavy due to moisture content/sap, or you can have lighter wood that's punky and soft that also absorbs sound and tone. Density plays a role, but IMHO rigidity and consistency play the biggest roles, and you can have a lot of that at many weight levels.I'm not concerned with the weight as much as the acoustic properties. Does it serve to make it more resonant, somewhat like a semi-hollow? Or is it not enough to make an audible difference?
Hey, if we lived closer to each other, I'd let you play any/all my basses... problem is, would that be cool or cruel??I would forever be ruined if I played it.
I already made the mistake of playing a few at Bass and Beyond and now everything is a sham when compared to it...
