Club Sadowsky!!!

+1...I'd be all over a 5 string Metro P...

+1 Metro P 5 string... I'd be in.

Edit: Sadowsky fans... wait until you hear Jason's (Vision's) new CD. Since we are buds, I've gotten to listen to a couple of the rough mixes. The bass tone is OFF THE HOOK... grindy, punchy, CLASSIC Sadowsky J tone. I'm sure he will post a link when the product is mixed and mastered. Awesome stuff.... funk/jazz/blues.... old school 'with a twist'. Richard Tee meets Michael Brecker meets Will Lee meets Mike Clark. Diggin' it!

Wait...what?
They make a 5 string now?

LOL Chef!!!!

Yes, most have no clue what it is. I have an upcoming gig with a band I don't normally gig with. So far, I've shown up to rehearsals with a Mike Lull T4, my NYC V4PJ and my Metro Will Lee. No one had a clue what any of them were.

I'll be brief...
Had the meet n greet today with the female drummer. She's in a 3 pc and they're good as a 3 pc. She said that the keyboardist is starting up his own 7pc band and he already filled the bass spot. :hmm:
He's going to be doing all originals - kinda funk/pop/dance stuff. He specifically wants a no frills, keep the beat, basic bassist. That's me. Darn!
Anyway, this drummer girl likes me and says she has a good feeling about me. But she wants me to go to the local hangouts that she goes to and get up and jam with strangers. seriously?

So I said I'd like to sit in on her 3pc band when they practice so I can get informal, live practice with them. It'd be good for me.
But she said they generally don't practice that much because the guitarist doesn't need to. :hmm: when they do, it's typically in the week day mornings! I work!!! They all have mornings off.

But she is going to recommend me and keep me in mind and she does want to jam at her house with me. Cool.

I got excited over nothing. Sorry.:hiding:

YES! Chef is right... this is a good and typical way to go... you audition, get known, and if you're good, you will either get the gig, and/or, invitations like this to get into the fray. DO IT!

It's NOT nothing!! It's just a typical "entry" into the circles of performing musicians. It'll definitely expand from here. If you work hard to always do your best, expand your skills, and be prepared for rehearsals, you'll have plenty of project offers. Trust me. :)

"Tully Kennedy, playing with Jason Aldean, on "Today" right now, playing a white Sadowsky PJ".

Tully and I traded Sadowsky basses last year, then I believe he had this one made for him.
I traded my white 5-Sad reverse P-J for his Sad 5/JJ single coil.
I still have the Sad JJ/5 sounds amazing.
So I don't think its the same bass, but who knows, maybe he will chime in and tell us.

TK is a Good Guy.
MG

Tully is a "Good Guy" for sure. Tully currently has 8 Sadowsky PJ5 basses. He needs 4 basses to cover all the tunings they use and they have two rigs going when they are on the road.

Thanks for the plug Ken! I'll definitely post up here once we get the publishing cleared and the tracks have been mixed. Really looking forward to getting this album out there!

-Full-sized alder body

Anybody else in their third tri-mester? I need help/sympathy.

That's going to be a hell of an ugly bass, and probably a lemon so cool off your excitement.

Does this help? :hiding:

;)

Maybe if you post some advance photos we can sympathise with you and offer some solace. :D

That cooled me a off a bit. ;-) It's going to be bit outrageous for sure....and not for everybody...but perfect for me. Blue like the P bass pic on the right but better and no binding.
