Roger may have to correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they are the same Gold. At least they look the same. When I spec'd mine out, I used yours as a reference. It seems they may be the same. "Antique" and "Vintage".

Here is a shop pic of mine, which is called "Vintage".

Shoreline gold is very sensitive to lighting, exposure, tint and color temperature. See - same exact shot, just bumped up the expose a touch, and a slightly cooler color temp.

Likewise, this is the one I keep referring back to... also has a few tiny dings here and there, and at this point, a nice warm feeling oil-finished neck. I love it, and can't imagine ever selling it. :)

You've had it around a while and that tells me its a good one. Oiled neck or not.
I know Vic's 4098 is a good one. I had the pleasure of playing it a whole set one night. I was playing up in Springfield, IL one night and Vic walked in and handed me 4098 and asked me if I wanted to play it. When I get the extra cash to have another bass built I am gonna have Roger pull the specs on 4098. Im not sure the finish will be the same but the BONES that make the TONE will be the same.

The purpose of the graphite is do reduce dead spots and increase evenness all over the fingerboard.

I totally understand. I have had this one for close to 2 1/2 years now and still just love it every time I play it.

BTW mine has a few bumps and bruises because it has over 150 shows on it now but that doesnt bother me. I was making a slight PU adjustment last week and was using one of those 12 in 1 screwdrivers and everything but the handle fell out and landed right behind the bridge and made a pretty good battle scar on it. I wasnt happy but nothing I can do about it now. I will not use one of those screwdrivers on a bass again.
