Hello Club Sadowsky!
Here are my 3 Sadowsky basses. In the mix or on their own they are spectacular. Playability and build quality is up there with the other top brands that I have owned. None of this is news to you Sadowsky club regulars!
Strings on the UV70 and PJ are Sadowsky Blue Steels. They really are a great combination.
The Modern has DR Fat Beams and sounds great.

I thought Fat Beams were "it" on my M5-24...... right up until I put a set of Blue Label SS on it. What an amazing combination!
Here's a question that has probably been addressed before, so please forgive me in advance, but I'd REALLY like to know.......which model Sadowsky did Tal Wilkenfeld play during the 2007 session with Jeff Beck in a jazz club that is replayed every time PBS has a pledge drive?
I'd really like to know so that I could try and configure one on the Sadowsky site and see how many months of saving it will take to get one!

I think that bass is an NYC vintage 4with maple board and a 19mm bridge. Not sure if she prefers hc or single coils. My guess is its an ash body. Natural finish
Thanks, Rob....I had looked at the Sadowsky site before, and was guessing that it might be the NYC vintage, but I wanted to hear it from someone who knew.

Thanks for the above link, that's the full monty of info I was looking for. I'll never achieve the tone of Tal in this lifetime (I'm starting out as a beginner in my late 50s!!!), but I'd be proud to own the same bass. I love natural finishes (I already own a Fender American Vintage '75 Jazz in natural), and I don't think I've seen a bass more handsome than Tal's. So I hope to be able to join Club Sadowsky in the near future with my own NYC Vintage 4 soon.

Maybe you can't achieve Tal's chops, but you sure can get a great tone if you work on it.
Owning a great bass that you don't have to fight is a big step towards that goal...go for that Sadowsky of your dreams.

Mike, it might interest you to know that I started playing bass in my late 50's as well. My recent experience with different basses resonates with what Fran says above. A finely crafted instrument really helps in that you are fighting enough of a battle trying to learn the instrument (and music) without it fighting you back.
My Sadowsky is definitely a finely crafted instrument!
I hope you're able to acquire the Sadowsky of your dreams and enjoy the journey.
