In the spirit of always having to do things a little different, the bass will be a Modern 24 5string with a swamp ash body, master grade quit top and morado fretboard. Reverse P in front and a Nordstrand FatStack in bridge position. Very excited about this bass indeed!

It is the pickup locations....they are shifted closer to the bridge than the other models. The pickups read a section of the string that has less vibration going on....therefore the "tighter" B.

I haven't noticed much discussion on the topic but it really does make a big difference - it's definitely something worth considering for those placing a custom order! I'm WAY more comfortable on this Standard 5 than I was on my previous one (which had the 1 7/8 nut).
