I just bought Crowes tickets to see them here in New Orleans in October. Was Raleigh one of the dates with Tedeschi Trucks Band, that is an awesome lineup for sure!

Yes, it sure was--an almost perfect pairing of bands for me! The two bands had such fun together, as well; by the final song of the encore there were 15 or 16 musicians up sharing the stage!

Quick question: The VTC knob seems to not really do anything until it's rolled almost all the way off. Is this normal? Is it a very very gradual roll-off until you're almost all the way off, then it all of a sudden rolls the treble off quickly?

I've had three Sadowsky basses with VTC and never experienced what you describe. They all operated evenly all across the knob action. I'd give the shop a call or drop them email.

I agree that VTC works evenly across the whole knob movement. Its worth pointing out that if you do not have much high treble content in your sound, the effect of the VTC will not be apparent until it is adjusted so it affects the frequencies that are present.

I think that's just it. With stainless steel strings on it, all of a sudden it's like I can hear the difference way more. It's a subtle treble roll-off, right? But you know what, there definitely is a difference between all the way open, half way open, and all the way off. I can tell those differences much more when playing along to a track where the difference is noticed in a full mix.
