In. Here's a decent shot of bass + rig from an outdoor festival over the summer.

I played another outdoor gig this Sunday. Nice muggy weather, big band, small-ish PA, and another stage about 200 yards away. The soundman came up to me during a break asking "What are you using to hit those low notes? You got a pedal or something?" I told him nope, just the bass. He said he couldn't believe how much "growl" was coming through the PA. I've said it before - this bass is the only one I've ever played where I've received compliments from the sound crew at gigs.

Do most of you play a 5 string? Rarely have I seen a Sadowsky 4 string...

I started playing 5s around three years ago and have barely touched a 4 since (hence my recent sale of my beloved Standard 4). For me there's really just no point in not having that extra string (besides the extra cost!). The only time I play a 4 now is when someone insists on a Fender (I've learned there's no point in trying to convince such people that I have non-Fenders that can do the job just as well, if not better ;)).
