Kirk, probably the best way is to have Roger cut one from your P5 guard so it matches your current but with the J cutout. Just a suggestion....

I guess i will have to. But the price is about $150 for a piece of plastic.:thumbsdown: It just makes me say REALLY? for a PG? To me its almost like paying $20 for a glass of water.:roflmao: No matter how tasty the water is.. ya know? I may bite the bullet or just cut one myself from stock materiel...

Do a hole template and try Warmouth or another company that makes pick guards on the web.

If you want the real deal (including pickguard material) it's worth it. If you were to buy a sheet of the same high-quality Tort Sadowsky uses, you'd see that that price really isn't unfair. I have done that. It IS expensive, and then I had it custom cut for me. Over $100 - but such nice tort :)

Or, you could think about it like a car. Some options are reasonable at time of order as part of the package. But when you decide later, the parts department is usually higher.

I would never say it was worth it... My basses are players,so I don't care if they get dinged up.. They are moved by me and others...

Im blessed that my friend owns a guitar company and I spoke with him . He also has a laser cutter...its going to cost me almost nothing.. The parchment material that i want is only $7 for the sheet!!! . I figure that im doing my own GreenBoy fearful build... but on a Pickguard!

Not that Im cheap... :woot: But damn, Im a cheap bassstard when it comes to plastic, I prefer to say Frugal..My head almost exploded when i heard the price..

I used Pickgaurdian.
I wanted a Tortoise PG for my Sadowsky MV5-24. I sent him my PG
and in about 7-10 days I got it. Fit perfectly. No issues.
