I'm kind of torn...on one hand, bummed that I didn't get progress pics (only the finished bass)...but having something this good to look at would make the wait more tortuous, I'd think...?? What's your take? Is it making the wait harder or easier?

I don't think it makes it harder; it was an interesting experience going from seeing the raw materials, to the unfinished body and then the finished body...at least you had something visual to look forward to, plus it's interesting to see what parts of the top stands out vs. what blends in. For example (sorry, but sharing is caring :

The sort of top and body natural finish was made for. Absolutely beautiful.

Definitely "easier" to wait, when I have a good idea of how the bass will turn out... Spalted maple has so many unique/drastic variations, I felt the cost of mastergrade wood was worth it, just for the peace of mind...not having to wait to find out what the bass body will look like!

Btw, your transparent aqua blue bass is gorgeous! I'd been stressing to know how that color was turning out along the way! Congrats!

The inimatable and non-pareiled Lisa Hahn used her nimble fingers and impeccable knowledge to work some magic into this bass during its assembly and final adjustments, the bass will not ship until Roger casts his discerning eyes upon it; without question the bass will arrive ready and burning to make music.

Yours featured the new back plate which you can access to the circuit board for frequency / band width adjustment, mine doesnt.

I can totally see what you're saying. My top was master grade also, I had a specific effect in mind and Dan had me look through the gallery to see if any of them "spoke" to me. I was a bit surprised at the lack of progress pics, but I guess I just trusted them to work their magic, didn't push the issue. As you see, I had nothing to worry about. Thanks for the kudos!

Beautiful bass @FunkSheep08 , blue is my color and that quilt is just jawdropping!

I just realised today that this year would mark 5 awesome years with the best bass I've ever had (and probably ever will)...It's certainly evolved quite a bit over the years and the back and sides of the neck are showing some age but I like it! Adds some character and now it's not so shiny and new so no more coddling from me (well, maybe a little ).

Still turning heads and dropping jaws everywhere and the best sound money can buy, so here's to 50 more years with sexy Sadie (Hopefully I'm still playing at that age)!

IIRC - That added knob is the East Mid-Sweep.....Keep meaning to add that to my Sadowsky. I forgot how you have that wired up. Still one of my favorite looking Sadowskys.

Clear pickguard...would see the routing. Plus the reverse P with a little mid boost gets me that classic P sound no problem.
