Good sweet Lord. See, yours is one of those basses that I would point to when someone goes gaga over mine and say "But the shop did that too!! Mine's cool, but this is just as good if not better!!" I have no words for your top, it is that gorgeous. And clearly she's a player, the "love marks" are a testimony to that!

What can I say, she certainly gets the job done night after night. Thanks!

Thanks, @FunkSheep08! I called the shop at least 3 years before I actually ordered mine to see if they could do Purple. They said yes. But, since there are many shades of Purple I needed to see a sample. I was sent a pic of a Modern 5 they did before in Trans Purple and I was like "YES! That's what I want!" I ordered it 8 months before my 50th birthday and it arrived home just 2 days after my birthday! I am still extremely happy with it! Here was the first pic I got of it after it came back from spray!

By the way, hat tip to @Joeykun ...think your Trans Purple bass was my initial inspiration for going with a unique color. Saw yours...noticed the color wasn't on their stock listing..."hey, wait, they'll make it whatever color you want?" :D And I still like yours a lot...toyed with the idea of getting that finish for a while.

Beautiful bass @FunkSheep08 , blue is my color and that quilt is just jawdropping!

I just realised today that this year would mark 5 awesome years with the best bass I've ever had (and probably ever will)...It's certainly evolved quite a bit over the years and the back and sides of the neck are showing some age but I like it! Adds some character and now it's not so shiny and new so no more coddling from me (well, maybe a little :D).

Still turning heads and dropping jaws everywhere and the best sound money can buy, so here's to 50 more years with sexy Sadie (Hopefully I'm still playing at that age)!

You shut TB down with your beauty!

I've seen lots of discussion of this on other threads (similar situation with Lakland US vs. Skylines).
The 1/2 requires a little reaming out of the 3/8 hole. You can do it, if you take your time, but they will not fit without expanding the hole slightly.

Exactly what I was going for. I would love to know who in the shop did the finish on her, the color is PERFECT...it makes the figuring on the top just sing.
It was probably Pat Wilkins, who I understand does most of the finishes for NYC Sadowskys and US Laklands. His work is incredible, and by all accounts he's a super-cool guy to deal with. Pat Wilkins Guitars and Finishing

Really stoked about ordering my first ever Sadowsky (NYC 5-24)!!! Discussing/finalizing specs with the NY shop staff was quite an enjoyable part of the process, too...

I secured this awesome master grade top to go with the rest of my specs...

Another example of perfect quilt for the color...like a luxurious piece of satin...sweetness. Still might end up with one that color. Maybe if I ever stump for a Modern 24. Would probably go flame maple though just for something different...

The sort of top and body natural finish was made for. Absolutely beautiful.

I'm kind of torn...on one hand, bummed that I didn't get progress pics (only the finished bass)...but having something this good to look at would make the wait more tortuous, I'd think...?? What's your take? Is it making the wait harder or easier?
