Lisa at Sadowsky told me that for the Satin Series the headstock holes have to be enlarged slightly for the bushings, however the wood screw holes on the back of the headstock line up perfectly, so they do not need to be filled or redrilled. But I'm not exactly sure how this differs from the Metro Line basses other than the same licensed ultralite tuners are supposed to be stock on both models.

I have a Metro PJ4 (Ash body/Maple board) and it has glorious tone. Very versatile too. I'll pm you the clip. It's only in passive mode favoring the p pickup and with the VTC rolled almost all the way up to get a rounder/vintagey tone.

This.

I got a Metro PJ4 (ash/maple) a year ago. Not only do I adore it, but every sound guy and recording engineer who has heard this bass has showered it with compliments. I let another bassist play a few tunes with it the other week and the quality and tone seemed to take his breath away. Amazingly, I don't have any clips. Can make one if that's helpful to @gustobassman.

Hi all
I've got a bit of a tour coming up, shouldn't involve flights, but I need a hard case that can handle a few knocks. Nothing too serious, so no need for custom flight cases...

Can anyone recommend a hard case please? Being in the UK, I'm looking at Hiscox. But, the SKB ones are Fender fitted, so perhaps they would be more secure?

It's for an MV5. What are you all using?

The Sadowsky Portabag is no flimsy gig bag -- it's sturdy, rugged, beautifully padded, can definitely take a punch :D. I know you asked specifically for a hard case, but you also said you didn't need a flight case. I used to be hard case only, but I feel the Portabag gives me as much protection as any hardshell case I've owned -- more than many of them (some hardshell cases are poorly padded).

I'll understand if you still wish to stick with hardshell, so consider this a bump for your question.

Thanks you for the response unfortunately, being in the UK, the Sadowsky bags aren't an option. They're so expensive to get shipped over, our currency is really weak at the moment. I do probably need a hard case for this tour as it is likely to be chucked in a van with lots of other gear. But I'd have loved a Portabag for normal use.

I did debate just paying out and getting one of those! Don't need it, but they look amazing! All bases covered should I need it too.

Which SKB did you use? The Pro one that comes with Fenders is cool, but it's so well fitted to a Fender that I'm not sure how the Sadowsky would sit in there?

i'm just spitballing, here, but i'd guess an ultra vintage would fit exactly and a vintage (being a slimmer body) would have a little extra room.

on the skb page i noticed a tab for "will it fit?" you might ping their product support and ask specifically about your bass.
