Club Sadowsky!!!

I have a rare weekend without any gigs, so I'm catching up on cleaning the rehearsal space, changing strings, organizing stuff, etc. I've got 44 shows on my 2016 Metro MV4 now, and I'm still loving everything about it. It's starting to feel "broken in" now - the back of the neck, etc. I'm still using the passive setting, about 2/3 toward the neck pickup on the blend. It gets nothing but compliments on the sound and looks. I'm still hoping for a good on-stage photo that will show how good the trans-blue and wood grain looks under stage lights, but no luck on that yet. Here's a photo of it from a charity benefit we played. This bass was definitely one of the best things about 2016 for me!

For future reference, in case anyone is in a similar position:
I asked for hard case recommendations for my MV5. I ended up with a Hiscox STD EBS, at a good price.

The case is VERY well built, incredibly robust... but... it doesn't fit a Metro 5 100%. Sure, it fits and would do a job. But, it is about an inch (2.5cm) too short. The padding for the lid sits on the end of the tip of the headstock.

There is practically no clearance between headstock and case. I would fly with this case, it is that sturdy. But not with this bass in it. There is not enough clearance in the case to withstand being dropped on the headstock.

Really disappointed, the search continues... SKB next I think.

So an thoughhts on ash body with Brazilian rosewood board? I'm at a point where I can change it up but want to know if I should defer from roasted maple and get a rosewood board with ash body.
This will have the P/super j pickup config

different numbering …

The WL5 build I have underway is an ash body with a morado board, j at the neck and super j at the bridge.

Honestly, I anticipated the Spalted Maple/Mahogany body to finish this way...but, the flaming on the headstock is just crazy sic (imo)...and a nice surprise!:thumbsup:
