Club Sadowsky!!!

New to me Metro UV60, can anyone tell me what pickups these are? Single coil, should be Nordstrand? Yellow/black and white/black cloth wiring. Or is that not how you tell? I've searched around, but am still not clear. Just curious mostly, I'm still getting used to them and the preamp.

Loving this bass!

Can you post another photo of the control cavity with a little wider view? Also, of the pickups themselves?

I may be mistaken, but that cavity doesn't look stock. The only pickups I have seen with cloth insulated wiring were in a Fender. Although, I am no pickup expert.

Yep. They sound good to me, I was just curious since I had read a bunch of posts comparing the different Sadowsky singles.

Only thing I am unsure about this bass is the hybrid case it came in. I'm more of a hardcase guy and need to find something to fit this. It doesn't really fit that well into any of the cases I have, but then again none of them are for a jazz bass. Think a classic G&G Fender Jazz case would work?

. . . .
I know this model is a bit of an odd duck and there aren't many of them, but I figured someone would know. Single coils and wired volume volume.

The control knobs don't look Sadowsky. They look Fender. Maybe someone gutted a Fender to get the Vol/Vol pots and just left the wiring soldered to the pots? It'd be interesting to pull the pickups out and see if that wiring runs all the way to the pickup or is spliced somewhere. I am just speculating of course.

It's no big thing at all. Just rock it!

Sadowsky Metro UV60-4 Ultra Vintage Burgundy Mist Bass with Case

This is its twin (besides color, obv). Same spec, the knobs and wiring are what comes on the UV60. Was just doing research on the bass to find out more about it, but didn't find much. I don't plan on taking anything out, a peek in the control cavity was as far as I was going to go. I meant to put in a fresh 9v but realized the ones I had in my bag were used or old.

I've got a Saturday off with no gig tonight, so I spent some time with my Sadowsky MV4 and did a full set-up, new strings, intonation, etc. Turns out I had my neck pickup set about 1/64th of an inch lower than it should have been on the treble side - my sound guy had said something to me about string balance, it's amazing he could hear that. I guess that's a testament to the full-spectrum awesome sound of these basses. Anyhow, it sounds amazing, even better than before. I swear there is some unicorn pixie dust included in the pickups or something.

I also dug up a photo from a daytime summer gig last year that shows the ash wood grain on my MV4 under the T-Blue finish. I'm still hunting for a good stage photo from a club, under stage lights, that shows how amazing this finish looks, but no luck so far.

I've seen Roger using Fender style knobs occasionally...like this one:
