Took my Metro PJ5 to a rock-reggae recording session yesterday. Passive mode with the pups centered was perfect. Clean, authoritative, and also very tonally even after the most minor lowering of the bass side of the P pickup.
The crusty engineer was old school in his ways; he even called me a "tech-head" after watching me stop playback to make the subtle pickup adjustment and re-record the first tune.
His response went to "oooooh, I get it now" after he heard the next pass.. ha!

There has been some discussion on a german forum rg. the bass in this picture:

It seems that the A-string does not run centered through the dots on the neck, which might lead to the conclusion that there is something off center.
Is this correct or only due to the camera angle?

I love my Sadowsky and Lulldowsky for reggae. Nice and fat without sacrificing clarity. I played a show with the Mighty Diamonds last week and the stage sound was really boomy (the sound in the room was much better). I totally get it, @bass12. I have been gigging my Sadowsky MV5-24 and WL4 somewhat regularly over the past year, and that magical Sadowsky preamp is the perfect tool to cut through in a room that can otherwise make the mix muddy or boomy.
That bass must have taken a bump during shipping and knocked the neck out of line a bit. Look at the distance from the outside strings to the edge of the fingerboard, as well as the center fingerboard dots. Easy to pull the neck back into alignment and tighten the neck bolts. No way it left my bench like that!

I speak some Japanese. Guitar is ギター、which is literally Gi-Ta (hold the "a" sound"). When they have to use foreign words, they slightly modify them to fit the syllables they use. There is no "ti" sound anywhere in Japanese.
Gutitars is a mistake.

Just a big shout to @Sadowsky for making his setup info so easily available for everyone. I haven't played my Metro JJ5 in a little while, it needed a couple adjustments and Roger's directions make it so EASY to follow and get a near perfect setup.

The A string is not centred on the P.G. truss access or the mid point P.G. screw. Must be the tilt of the bass in the photo IMO.

You are referring to the link to the satin guitar on our website.....I agree that is camera angle. But that is not the photo of concern on the German forum.
I was commenting on the link in the post. I assumed it was the photo in question.

Question, I've been using Sadowsky Blue Steels on my MV5 and I'm very impressed but they are sold out on the web site and I'm thinking about checking out something else to maybe save a bit anyway. What strings are you guys using that are similar to the Blue Steels (med. Gauge)?
