A question, gents: What's the difference between a Metro MS4 and an MV4? Is it simply the absence/presence of a pickguard and metal control plate?
I took the plunge and ordered a used MS4 at a good price. Are these considered as good as other Metros?

The S in the MS4 is for Standard. No pickguard 4 in a row knobs.
The V in the MV4 is for Vintage. Pickguard and control plate.
You cant go wrong with either. Although I am partial to the Standards.

Even though we have the same exact style/color linoleum, I'm venturing to say you clean yours a bit more frequently than my wife does ours. Love the bass, JK!

Oh that's a purdy one! I'm on the fence about putting my NYC up for sale (to finance a custom Sadowsky build) but still love to play it. How do you get through the conflict of playing that beauty, knowing it could be sold the next day?

I love doing my own set ups too . I had to learn years ago when I had like 14 basses , I was nuts but could not afford to keep taking them to someone . It is very satisfying to work on your own bass , play it and have it sound and feel great . i have one for sale too that I love but I just don't play 5 string anymore and have not for a long time I always take great care of all of them , still have a 4 string Sadowsky P 4 string that is also very special the will be with me for a long time , I don't see many of those . I think I will be down to just 5 electrics soon and that feels good but I will definitely miss my 5 , I have had it for years but she needs to be played and heard .
