Happy 2018, fellow Sadowsky lovers! I had a fantastic NYE gig with my 2005 P5.

What's in your LDS box?
Howdy Sadowskiers, thought this might be the right place to ask about this.
I know that Roger's basses usually have 19mm string spacing on them, but he offers 18mm as an option.
Do any of you know if the pickup poles are spaced differently for the 18mm versions?
If not, would it be a bad idea to take a Sadowsky that is currently 19mm and have an 18mm bridge installed on it? I'm assuming new holes would have to be drilled, which could affect the resale value, but would the new holes be too close to the old holes? Meaning the bridge would have to be moved back?
I love the Sadowsky sound, just not the 19mm thing.
Bluesy, are you hitting NAMM this year ??Who watched the 2018 Tournament of Roses Parade? Pretty cool to see EW & F and Verdine White rockin' his Sadowsky!

Hey Phillip,
To answer your question about string spacing, I experimented by swapping out the saddles with Hipshot's B style threaded ones. The barrels go slightly wide placed side by side but they work well enough for my needs. Bass sounds fine & you still retain the resale value of your bass. Hope this helps.
I was sooo excited to see them playing ! And that Sadowsky bass looked hot!Saw that and mentioned it to my wife... she was nonplussed!![]()
Hey thanks for that! Hadn't thought of swapping out saddles.
I discovered that the NYC models have an option for 18mm bridges - and you can swap the 19 with the 18 without drilling new holes.
However, I don't know if the same is true of the Metro basses.
at one point, i thought hipshot made 18mm saddles for 19mm spaced bridges, so if that's true, and those screws/saddles fit the metro bridges, that might work. i haven't called hipshot to verify, so that's the first step.I've done a bit of emailing & only the NYCs have that sort of flexibility. Would love to see official 18mm bridges or retrofit saddles for the Metros one day!
