They are both 25K audio taper.Hello! Help please! Which is resistance of EQ pots (treble, bass)? A25k both?
They don't make a PJ in the "Satin" series, do they? I'd love a 5 string PJ if they did.
I feel as though my fender has more presence to it than my sadowsky. The strings are different but only because the D'addario's I have on my fender didn't sound good on the sadowksy. I have DR high beams on the sadowsky. Its not that the bass sounds bad, but particularly the E string on the fender is so much better than the sadowsky IMO. The sadowsky sounds even across the neck, but the fender has more punch to it i guess.
In the studio though i found it sounded TOO bright. I'm using an Aguilar 350 head and an SL cab
Very interesting. I was drawn to Club Bass in Toronto to the Sadowsky Modern and after a long and careful consultation with Dave regarding my needs I went with the 21 fret Vintage J. It definitely hit the spot. You might prefer single coil pickups!
You might prefer single coil pickups!
I thought I had those! Are the jazz bass style pickups on my metro mv24 not single coil?
Except for the Will Lee!Metro basses are stock with HC pups
Interesting! Does Sadowsky offer single coil pickups I could throw into the bass? Would it change the sound dramatically?
"Single coils"
Man, I was ready to love my first
Metro RV5 after all the reading here.
Totally didn't like it; and it made me sad.
Then!
Vic suggested I swap in single coils...
Voila!!!
Big diff in how much better it suited me.
Played that RV5 for some time and then ordered an MV5 and had the single coils installed at the shop before they shipped to it me.
Ok so i'm interested in looking into this but on the Sadowksy website it doesn't say they sell pickups. I'd be interested in throwing single coils in my MV5. Where can I find sadowsky single coils? @Sadowsky any advice on which ones you recommend?
It's hard to find! They are under the order tab under full price list near the bottom. I expected to find them in the online store, but they're not there.I couldn't find pickups in the web store; that's weird.
I'm on a phone tho.
Hey Funky! If you want Sadowsky, then I'd recommend picking up a new set of Sadowsky PUPs... You won't regret it, or ever second guess yourself that way, and then you'll have 100% Sadowsky, all the way. That's what I'd do.Hello! I bought a 1988 NYC 4 last month, but the pickups and preamp has been changed. I was able to buy a Sadowsky preamp 2 weeks ago with the VT switch. Now the question is...pickups. I alreday have and old set of DP149 in stock and a kit of Custom shop 60', Do they will give me a real Sadowsky sound or if it is better to buy a new set of Sadowsky pickups? CS or Humbucker?
