There are times I can channel him... a few weeks ago, I read, Dr. Seuss, 'Cat In The Hat' to my boys, after dinner...
... the boys just thought Daddy was speaking in an 'unusual' voice, but the wife came in later, stating she thought Walken was in our house...
... her laughter was not so much frivolity, but that of unwarranted nervousness.
... and there he is, Le Continental... no doubt, with a nice chilled bottle of...
... 'sham-pan-ya'... waiting to be served, for his unsuspecting female guest...
So...... Uh.... Anyone ummm... have any tips on how to remove Sharpie ink from the back of the neck?
A solo artist asked me to back him Saturday night at the last minute. In my haste to get the changes written down all I had was a blue Sharpie nearby. At some point blue ink ended up on the neck of my PJ5.
(but surprisingly not on my hands...)
Fun stuff, lol.

If the Sharpie takes your mind off the ding, you need to do something to the bass to take your mind off the Sharpie...
Seriously though, maybe #0000 steel wool? The neck finish is nitro so it might work.
Hmn...wonder if a guitar cleaner product, like Gerlitz Smudge-off, would get the Sharpie ink off. Think I'd try that first, before I messed around with stuff that might discolor the nitro.

Good to know... when I finally make it big, I'm sure some form of Sharpie blur will make it on my bass, from signing all those autographs...

That was perfect! My very first bass was an Aria Pro II ZZB Explorer. That shot is so fitting!

Just do what I do!! I have 'em turn around and I use their back as the support for that kind of thing.
But the tooth paste is good info I can use to remove the white painted on side dots from one of my basses. Don't even ask who would do such a thing!!!
Went into the studio yesterday to do a recording for a friend of mine's first album. I brought my fender jazz, and because I needed a low C on one song, I brought my 5 string sadwowsky metro. I have silently been a little displeased with the sadowsky because I find my fender jazz to be much more clear and has a nice little growl to it I can't get out of the sadowksy.
In the studio was a whole other story! I couldn't get a fat bottom sound to come from the fender for a while. i got a tone I was fine with and recorded 4 songs. The 5th and last one, I needed the 5 string so I plugged in, put on the headphones and THATS THE SOUND! It just sat in the mix soooo beautifully! I wish I recorded the whole thing on that bass. Every note had this beautiful sustain, great presence and the right amount of highs/lows with that preamp. I was blown away. Still am.

Are you not happy with your Sadowsky live? What rig are you using?
Regarding growl (mentioned in the post SRS was responding to):
IME string choice affects that. I get a nice growly tone on my WL5 with Dunlop Super Brights. Works great live, and--contrary to what you might expect from the name--they're not brittle or overly clangy.
I feel as though my fender has more presence to it than my sadowsky. The strings are different but only because the D'addario's I have on my fender didn't sound good on the sadowksy. I have DR high beams on the sadowsky. Its not that the bass sounds bad, but particularly the E string on the fender is so much better than the sadowsky IMO. The sadowsky sounds even across the neck, but the fender has more punch to it i guess.
In the studio though i found it sounded TOO bright. I'm using an Aguilar 350 head and an SL cab
