Club Sadowsky!!!

This may sound like an odd question. I've never played the standard Sadowsky J bass only the Will Lee models. My question is: Do you have a problem reaching the high E note (21st fret) on G string with your pinky? Is the lower horn cut a bit deeper so it's reachable? I can't tell from photos.

Never been an issue for me on my MS5. Not sure if there’s much difference or not.

The lower horn is actually shaped so you can reach in there for higher notes.

I think someone else has mentioned this before. But I just absolutely love the purple finish! Your Sadowsky looks absolutely amazing and I not shy to say I'm madly jealous and would love a purple one as well.

This is on the Sadowsky facebook page. Wow! Looks amazing. This will be quite a bass!! Does anyone have this heading their way or know what the spec of this one is going to be?

I think it's spec'd out as awesome, and that's just the body...

... dilly, dilly! Whoever shares this with King Spidey will get a lifetime exemption from the Pit of Misery...

So I ordered a replacement pickguard for my new RV5-24 and now she's a black beauty:

For comparison, here's what she looked like before:

This is honestly the first bass with a white pickguard that I actually liked... I'm just more of a fan of the "blacked-out" look. It's more low-key and chill looking IMO.

It was a little nerve-wracking because I had to remove the neck in order to take the pickguard off. They are super snug and part of the guard was under the neck. The new guard also needed quite a bit of finessing (had to shave down portions of it to get a clean fit).

But in the end, I'm happy with the results :bassist:

Much cooler blacked out, than Oreo'd.

I've always bought natural / trans / burst finished basses and usually don't even consider black, white, red, any solid colors, but this looks really cool! And the chrome hardware really makes it nice - wouldn't be as nice with black hardware IMO.

Thanks for that!

And I think you are right... I thought about doing all black hardware as well, but the chrome against the black gives it a sort of aggressive look that I kind of like.
