Thanks for that!
And I think you are right... I thought about doing all black hardware as well, but the chrome against the black gives it a sort of aggressive look that I kind of like.
Ha ha - yeah - think....Hot Rod!

It probably wasn't Roger that did it, but a 2011 Metro that I bought used had been sent by that owner to the Sadowsky shop in NYC for a set up, when that prior owner bought it. I have never experienced a more perfect set-up than what that bass had, even a couple of years after it was done. As for the bass itself I've never played a bass that was a even in tone across the fret board, pole pieces all height-adjusted... a work of art. I have a Smith also, which is truly an impressive bass that I enjoy and even prefer for certain applications, but being a Jazz player at heart, the Sadowsky is the best thing I've ever played. And it's not even a NYC. I have a friend who worked there in the 90's for quite a while... he's never had anything but great things to say about Mr. Sadowsky. Somebody is always going to be contrary (though I understand how disappointment can make people a little nuts)... if you polled people about whether they want world peace, at least 5% would be against it.
One question - who currently makes the Sadowsky P5 pickup? Is it Nordstrand?
does one know what kind of pickups are in the 24 fret modern series basses? Are these also duncan or nordstrand?

Currently Duncan.
Our soapbars were custom designed for me by Kevin Beller at Duncan.
Pretty sure the standard gauge is .045 - .105.I'll join. Picked up a new MV4 a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely love it. Anyone know what the factory string gauges are?
I am in no way shape or form worthy of this thing, but damn it feels good.

I'd recommend hitting up Jason (TB username Slapinfunk) at Bass Strings Online. He's based in California.Thanks. Need to pick some up soon as these have been on there in the store for a couple of years already, but wanted to stick with the same size as I liked the tone.

So they went back to Duncan?Oh boy! Today I added a set of Single Coils to go along with my Satin 5 order. I'm extremely excited to try these - I've had the Nordy version in one of my Metro's and Peter confirmed the new ones are made by Duncan. I'm 3 months in and it's starting to feel real!
