Club Sadowsky!!!

Those are pretty radically different... Hopefully you’ll be happier.
If the bass actually works, I'll be happier.

I'd like to mention that I've yet to hear from Roger @Sadowsky. It's very obvious that between the absurd amount of time the second attempt took, and the fact that no one even bothered to test it before they sent it to me, my bass was not important and my business was not valued in the slightest.

You've come in here, replied to all sorts of posts, made a stupid joke, and yet haven't taken the time to address a customer that you failed, twice, even in an email. Pretty sad.

MM28, After hearing that you returned it and are going with an MTD I was hoping it would be the last we’d hear from you on the Sadowsky thread. Is it wise to keep bad mouthing the guy 99.99% of us love and admire? You’ve returned the bass and are going down another path. Good for you. MTD’s are great too...now let it go.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Quick question - do any of you have experience with the oiled neck option on Sadowsky NYC's?

The time has come for me to put in an order for a NYC, and I'm pretty sure I'll go with oiled, I was just wondering if any of you had experience with one. I love the oil/wax necks on Music Man basses and am hoping it's something of that feel.

I've had my Sadowsky Metroline MV4 for almost two years now. It is a spectacular bass! It's hard to imagine a bass sounding any better than that Metro, so the NYC will be of a similar composition. I mainly want a little lighter bass with the chambered body (although my Metro is my lightest current bass at a little over 9lbs, my back is telling me lighter is better anyways), an oiled neck, and a special color. So it's time to part with a few basses I don't play anymore and get a NYC.

Thanks for any feedback anybody has!

My Metro...

That's a nice Metro!

I haven't seen translucent finishes on the Metros before. Was that a custom job or did it come that way originally?

That's a standard Metroline finish! I saw pictures of the Transparent Blue online, but when I wanted a Metro, nobody had any for sale anywhere I that I could find. So I ordered a T-Blue Metro MV4 and waited 6 months. It's a flawless, unbelieveable bass! Love it. I think the Metros also come in Transparent Red and a couple of other T-finishes, too. You just don't see many of them around, I guess.

Didn’t know they had that option!

My MV4, in translucent white...

... reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream, every time I play it...

... I'm just saying, I really like mint chocolate chip ice cream, that's all.

It’s just you.

It can be hard at times, but I try to find humor in everything, no matter the topic... I think it tends to keep me happier, overall. I can also guarantee all of you situations similar to this, where Spidey isn't happy, almost always take a turn in my favor, using respect, tact, understanding, patience, and my awesome sense of humor... get all of your ducks in a row, take the right path toward the solution, approaching it with a calm demeanor and you will usually come out on top... from my experience, most customer service reps hear an earful, each and every day, and I've had them comment, more often than not, how pleasant our conversation was, or how I made their day, making them laugh...

... serious, you can catch more blondes with a sports car, than pop flys with a basketball hoop... or something like that.

Exactly. Life’s too short. If I had to live life like that my years remaining would be miserable. No thanks!!! Of course there’s always a line you don’t cross in keeping good morals and in this case it wasn’t even near that line.

MTD makes fantastic instruments, but very different from Sadowsky's. I personally prefer the latter. Sorry it didn't work out for you and good luck with the new bass.
True. I have a Sadowsky MV5-24 and MTD Norm Stockton. Both great, just two different flavors. On another note, Roger and Mike have the best customer service in the business.
