Club Sadowsky!!!

Hi, I was wondering if someone in here has a Sadowsky Metro older than mine. Mine has serial number M164. It is a RV4, Olympic White (now a nice cream color). I believe my bass is from 2004.

Until I got my pre-owned MV5-PJ about 3 years ago, I owned #M181 - an Oly White RV5! IIRC, mine was a 2004 also.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Not the same fretboard, definitely not as old as yours, but it looks as though we may have a little in common, sharing bodies...

... my wife is giving me... the look... as I type... so, if we can keep this between you, me... and the other zillion Sadowskians...

... I'd really appreciate it.

(Great looking bass! Enjoy!)
LOL! Your Metro looks like it is see-through white.

Oh yay, now were talkin'..... Gorgeous! @BoogyBass

And talk about the wife giving me the look @Spidey2112 I tried to pull the trigger on a Metro HPJ4 same colour and ended up in the dog house for over week, something about mortgage payments or some noise. I'll I heard was blah blah blah and all I was thinking was Sadowsky,Sadowsky, Sadowsky.

Dave, total class, buddy! Not the gorgeous Sadowsky, even if it exudes class... Not the fantastic fireplace and surround, both warm and inviting...

... no, it's more the misplaced mini-b-ball, positioned just so, just in time for March Madness...

... you clever devil, you...
Lol. My 2-yr old grandson’s contribution.

The bass is aces!!

Here's a shot from this weekend. It's a low-res cellphone shot, but it shows how my new Satin Dark Lake Placid Blue J bass looks under stage lighting. Well, pink stage lighting, LOL.

The house sound engineer actually came up and asked me all about the bass after the show and said it sounded really, really good.

I am loving this Satin bass. I think I've said that before, right? LOL.

Just dropping in to say this is one of the most gorgeous basses I've ever seen.

Thanks, and I agree.
I could nit-pick a few things about it that surprised me a little, but, overall it’s an excellent bass. I guess we have to remember that despite the cost and reputation of these instruments, there will always be an element of human-ness to them, and I don’t know how many could really turn out “flawless” or “perfect” in every way for every player...even from Sadowsky. Further, we’re dealing with wood, which is inherently imperfect.

That said, it seems like simple things, like strings not centered in pickup poles, should have been noted and addressed at this level. I’ve noticed that other NYC pj’s I’ve seen online suffer from this. It appears that it could be fixed by slightly moving the route for the treble side pu(?).

Anyway, always trade-offs. Due to the playability, tone, and beauty of this bass, it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
