Club Sadowsky!!!

So you have pics, and you didn’t share?!? Lol

I wasn't near my computer - its a PITA on my phone! But yes.. we have pics! When I first saw the Verdine 4, I was on Peter like a mosquito in summertime trying to get a 5'er built. Just looking back at the number of inquiry emails i sent... I'm glad he didn't block me, lol.. Anyway I was overjoyed when he said he was ready to take my order! I cannot wait for this one.

Blah blah blah... yadda yadda.. no one cares just show the pics.. i get it.. :D :roflmao:

Very nice color! Congratulations!

Is it possible to have a body with flame ash back and a quilt maple top?

I talked to Lisa, our shop manager, about this and she said that we'd have to purchase a flame ash blank specifically for the build. We'd determine availability, weight, etc. at that time.

If you're really interested, email/call the shop and we can look into it!

In case you haven't seen it, there's a great new collection of professional B&W photos (by Glen Craig) up on the Sadowsky site: Glen Craig Photography - Sadowsky Guitars

Some really nice behind-the-scenes photos of the shop and Roger and his crew at work. As someone whose first Sadowsky bass is currently on a FedEx truck heading my way (arrives Monday!!), these were a lot of fun to see. It made me wonder if my bass was one of the partially finished basses pictured! Either way, I already have a great pic of my new bass just before shipping. :)

I'm not Roger, but first thought is this: is not the Super J a soapbar shape? thus the body require routing versus a standard J pickup?
I’d do it in a heartbeat.
The problem I've always heard about regarding that is it's extremely hard to (re)route a body with a finish on it. If that's true, that could be a reason why a builder/luthier might not want to do it... or at least add on a full refinish if need be.

Roger?

I've had at least a half-dozen finished basses routed for new pickups: usually for P to PJ conversions, but sometimes when expanding a route for a larger pickup. In one instance the route wasn't as snug as I would've liked, but that had nothing to do with the finish.

I don't whether Sadowsky will do this, but PeterH will be routing a non-Sadowsky bass.

Am I nuts, or does this bass have a slightly different headstock shape than a regular Sadowsky?
