That sounds amazing. My budget for a NY built Sadowsky only allows for a Satin Series. I remember this was discussed before but can’t find it. So I’ll ask again, has anyone used the Sadowsky SBP-2 with their Sadowsky bass? I’m thinking of adding one to my board as an added bump of Bass and Treble for slapping, boost, etc. Share your experience if you do so! Thanks!
Not exactly—though I did once accidentally route my MV4 through my SBP-1 on the way to my Glockenklang Blue Soul head and Aguilar DB112s. The result was quite startling and I suspect it might have violated some international treaties. Definitely violated local noise ordinances. Not a recommended practice.
Of course, that’s the same preamp as you have in your bass. So, running through one of those would be putting two of the preamps in series. It’s been a while since I tried it; but my recollection is that you can do it as long as you are careful with the gain staging; but I didn’t notice any advantage to it. If you are looking for a nice boost pedal that compliments Roger’s preamp, I would recommend the TC Electronics Spark pedal; which will do what you described. GL

Visited the shop today— was nervous and a little starstruck but everyone was so nice and really great! These were probably the nicest playing and sounding basses I've tried... Was expecting to bounce off of the Modern pickups but they were actually really nice too!. After playing for an hour, I'm going to have to think about what model I'd like (I'll get one, eventually, who knows when!)— but I'll probably end up with a J/Super J. It just sounded so thick and warm! Shame I didn't try out a Will Lee- maybe next time!

For this application, I will use a EQ pedal instead, my latest favorite is Free The Tone - PA-1QB, got programmable function, usable EQ range and Midi available. so you can dial different kind of tone out of it and pair with your Sadowsky bass.
Totally makes sense to kick in an sbp-2 if you want to dial in a sometimes scoop and have it be the same shape and volume every night. If you’re looking for consistency you never want to rely on lots of changes to an onboard EQ on any bass.
I finally joined the Sadowsky club! I first played a Sadowsky Bass about 20 years ago (sometime around mid/late 90s) and I’ve had that bass in my mind ever since. I just received my Sadowsky jazz and it’s a beast! I can’t wait to gig with it!

So a little bummed, but Ive kinda made up for it.
Ordered a MetroExpress aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages ago and the shop here (Australia) has been great to deal with, keeping me informed with what they know about all the delays.
Anyway, got a bit jack of waiting and yesterday they let me know its likely going to be a few more months at least before I would see it, so I cancelled the order.
As it happens, they had this Metro MV5 in stock, so guess what I'm getting instead......
