Club Sadowsky!!!

So a little bummed, but Ive kinda made up for it.

Ordered a MetroExpress aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages ago and the shop here (Australia) has been great to deal with, keeping me informed with what they know about all the delays.
Anyway, got a bit jack of waiting and yesterday they let me know its likely going to be a few more months at least before I would see it, so I cancelled the order.

As it happens, they had this Metro MV5 in stock, so guess what I'm getting instead......

She's a beaut! I can't believe it would take that long, for the other one.

"Sir, I know it's been awhile, waiting... just a few more months, though...

... the ship transporting your Sadowsky should be completely seaworthy, by then."

Due to the production issues with the Metro Express I'm the proud owner of a Verdine White Satin Deluxe. And with the looks of it with production being backed up well into 2019 I'm eyeballing a Jazz Satin Deluxe to feed my Sadowsky addiction. The challenge is that with the USD$ exchange, shipping and duties, its topping out at $6K Canadian for Satin Deluxe. Definitely a hill to climb. I need to be patient on the Express production....

Random observation... Sometimes it seems Japan has more Sadowskys in supply than the US. Reverb and feEbay are loaded with used models selling for much more than actual new ones. Weird

On another note, I tried that fingerboard oil Roger peddles for about $8/bottle and immediately dumped all my other cleaners. Wow! Can't wait to use it on the rest of my collection.

First I’ve heard of any production issues with the Metro Express. What’s the story?

My info is second hand but from what I have heard there have been a couple of key issues causing the delays which now are leading delivery times well into next year. I know that anything that comes out of the factory for sale is going to be worth the Sadowsky name.

Those Metro basses are AMAZING! I have a Metro Vintage 5 and it immediately became one of my all time favorite basses! Congrats on your new bass!

Here's mine, it was from a limited run of bursts not normally offered.

Played a metro express today
Very nice
I heard they’re all done.
Production shut down
Can anyone corroborate this rumor?

UPDATE 10/10:

I wanted to give everyone an update on the MetroExpress project…

With total honesty, this project has been a bit more difficult than we expected. As a result, our shipments are delayed. Yoshi Kikuchi, my protégé in Japan, had trained a highly skilled worker at the factory for our production and unfortunately, he moved on. Yoshi has been spending a lot of time training new people.

Because my name is on it, I would rather have our deliveries delayed, than ship anything that is less than 100% Sadowsky Quality! At this time, instruments are beginning to ship but at a much slower pace than we originally expected. I apologize for this, but again, "the quality goes in before the name goes on."

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Roger Sadowsky

Sad and disappointed day, I have wanted to buy a 5-24 for some time now, and when finally one came up with a discount at the shop. I couldn't purchase it in their website but because I am deployed in Afghanistan I try to reach someone and when I finally got a response today since thanksgiving it was sold :-(
