This just happened, God is good. I've been looking for a used NYC on a limited budget, but while I love my Metro, it's on the heavy side, pushing 10 and a half pounds was getting tiring. Anyway, I found this Will Lee Metro that was refinished by Pat Wilkins (he calls it Sea Foam green-it's actually a got a bit of blue in it, but still very cool) that weighs 8.1 pounds. Anyway, I've owned two NYC's an MV5 and an MS5, one Metro RV5 an MV4 and my current MV5. And this bass is as good as any of them I'd put it right in there with my MS5 with a flame top and SC's. It sings, plays like butter, and like all of Rogers basses is put together right.

I'm pretty impressed so far, I'm not sure I've heard another I'd trade it for. I was going for that Anthony Jackson thing in Ruby Baby on that Donald Fagen album. I do have to tweak it a lot though and I'm still hunting for the right setting with the Will Lee which is a little brighter. It is a thick sounding chorus, almost synth bass sounding at times.

I always loved this look of this bass in the showroom. To me, it has a sort of orchestral instrument vibe to it with the unlined ebony board, the body color, and the big lines with the 5 string neck. It's a really nice looking bass and has a very rich tone. Enjoy!

Joeykun you were asking about the Seafoam II Chorus. Here's a track of me playing at our Christmas rehersal thing at church with my MV5 with the Seafoam engaged. Not a lot of bass in the first third of the tune.

Have these been discussed yet?? New Sadowsky/Nordstrand pickups. They look amazing!!!! Front one can be switched between P and reverse P. Bridge can give you 60's or 70's J positions. GREAT idea!!
